As a scientist, I’m excited to tell you that the future is bright.
Our team is discovering new compounds with the potential to ease symptoms and to stop Parkinson’s disease in its tracks.
But more than ever, we need your support to make these discoveries a reality. That’s why I’m asking you to support the PDF team working to end Parkinson’s.
In today’s environment, research support is difficult to obtain. That’s where PDF comes in. We are a leader in funding groundbreaking research initiatives designed to change the course of Parkinson’s.
Each year, we invest $5 million in research to support scientists in the quest for a cure, including:
- $2.7 million to support early-career scientists exploring topics like nanotechnology that could change the way we treat Parkinson’s.
- $600,000 to solve the debilitating symptoms like fatigue and dystonia that you told us were important through our PDF Community Choice Research Awards.
- $250,000 for the Parkinson’s Prevalence Project to understand how many people have Parkinson’s and who they are, key information for the roadmap to the cure.
Our investments in cutting edge research are yielding breakthrough results.
Recently, a scientist studying cell autophagy was awarded the Nobel Prize. Fifteen years ago, a PDF research team recognized the importance of cell autophagy and applied it to Parkinson’s. Ever since, our team has been unraveling autophagy in Parkinson’s and pointing us toward new therapies.
This is just one example of how PDF investments are making a difference. We’re making remarkable progress, but we can’t make it to the finish line – putting an end to Parkinson’s – without you.
Will you join our team? When you join us today, you double your investment in scientists committed to finding cures and ending Parkinson’s.
Together, with you on our team, we will #EndParkinsons.
